I started doing evening classes in mosaics at the Adult Education College in Greenwich in 2012. My first mosaic was done in the Roman style: an owl inspired by a famous mosaic from Tunisia. After learning the Roman style I began to discover the world of contemporary mosaics and got hooked. I love that you can use all types of different materials in a contemporary mosaic ranging from glass, ceramics, hand-made materials, marble, slate, pebbles, and sea glass to literally anything you can think of using.
During my journey in mosaics I have taken part in numerous exhibitions including a solo exhibition at the SE9 Shipping Container gallery in Eltham, and the Mosaics Odysseys Exhibition in London, Athens and Mykonos.
Subjects that interest me include animals and creatures of all kinds, and scenes of the ocean.
I have run mosaic workshops in London, Bristol and North Somerset, and now at my studio in Kigbeare, Okehampton. In 2022 I was awarded the Small Sparks Grant to teach mosaics to people with autism and learning disabilities.
See my workshop page for details of upcoming courses.
In my spare time I like travelling, learning languages and paddleboarding.
